I feel embarrassed for admitting this, but for these years, I have been running without identification.
The benefits of running with ID are as clear as day. Without one, if I become incapacitated, my family wouldn't be able to find me until they looked for me (which could honestly be a LONG time).
While carrying my driver's license around could be a solution, I learned that this comes with its own risks and inconveniences.
Enter RoadID. These guys have been advertising at nearly every race I've run, yet I thought it was something to worry about "later." But finally, for the sake of my peace of mind and safety, I got a Wrist Sport ID. See this sample:

It is very light, comes in a few colors, and honestly, you don't notice it when you're running. Comfort was a concern of mine, but I really had nothing to worry about.
